"Festival Overture" - A CONCERT BY KODÁLY FILHARMONIKUSOK DEBRECEN
Kodály Filharmónia Debrecen has been responsible for supervising the work of two major musical ensembles, Kodály Filharmonikusok [Kodály Philharmonics] and Kodály Kórus [Kodály Choir], of the city of Debrecen since 2011, and it has also coordinated the entire classical music scene of our city under the guidance of General and Artistic Director Dániel Somogyi-Tóth.
Due to an effort to pay homage to the name-giver, Zoltán Kodály’s art will be given special emphasis in the repertoir of the ensemble this year, while the other chief motif in their program will be the most popular works in the history of music. They have selected a bunch of musical pieces for the eve of Saint Stephen’s day that promises not only a pleasant summer evening of entertainment and relaxation but also prepares us emotionally for our greatest national holiday, the anniversary of the foundation of the Hungarian state.
